There’s no engine in it, for the record. Mostly, I’d like to know how they got it on there, and/or how they’re getting it off.

I’m going with forklift. The salvage yard probably helped them load it. They got it home and were like “Dammit.”

Given the green towel I am going to assume they actually towed this on the road. People can be so reckless when it comes to towing.

The answer is probably meth.

I’m with Ash78, forklift (or some functionally similar piece of farm equipment).
Gravity will help with getting it down.

I’ll give the guy some credit, it is strapped down in several places, and the trailer looks appropriately beefy (though homemade and undersized for the job) .

Oh, I definitely think it was towed there from somewhere. Or, if they somehow managed to get it on the trailer there, it’s going to be towed somewhere next.
Don’t worry, 8-10 cheap ratchet straps will be fine. /s

Hmm, meth could help explain a lot that goes on at that house. See the bright orange 90's Ford in the “garage” they’re “ building” about 25' from the state road?

I agree, some piece of heavy equipment was involved. But they towed it down the road like that?! And ... now what?

Ms. Mercedes is collecting Rangers now and going to tow that back to Chicago with a 10 year old smart car.

I remember when I sold a car with a seized transmission. Guy showed up from 4 hours away in a FJ60 and a trailer. I had told him the front was seized and the car couldn’t be rolled. No problem! He brought metal ramps and...HotShot Tire Shine foam. He sprayed the ramps and thought he could push the car up. Eventually he got it on the trailer by jacking the car up about 38 feet and backing the trailer under it. He tied a tarp to the bottom of the trailer and sprayed with the foam stuff, thinking it’d just slide along on that, too. It was hours of fun.
I can’t imagine how fun it was towing a car, through the mountains, with a FJ60, for a few hundred miles.

Forklifts are a common way for body shops and salvage yards to deal with cars that don’t car under their own power. Yes, that’s a terrible attempt at making a verb out of a non verb.

Tire shine foam?!? He’s been watching too many late-night infomercials.

A f orklift is probably part of this equation. But several questions remain.

What concerns me even more is that it appears to be back heavy. Notice how they have block under the back of the trailer? So on top of this truck being loaded and secured in a super sketchy way, this thing is probably going to have negative tongue weight.
I’m sure that’ll run great down the road. /s

Oh yeah, good eye. Just because there’s no engine doesn’t mean the front isn’t still quite a bit heavier than the rear. Seats, glass, maybe a transmission, all that adds up.
The road that goes by that house is one of the worst in the area, it’s getting a major overhaul... next year. But it does appear to have made it SO FAR. I’m curious what’s next. Is it going TO the salvage yard, or coming FROM?

I disagree. That is an excellent non- verb verb.

I don’t know how they loaded it, but I’m guessing that unloading will be some version of back up real fast and then stomp on the brakes.

negative tongue weight.
While I’ve always known poorly loaded trailers having lift instead of weight at the tongue is a thing, I’ve never thought of it as “negative tongue weight”.
Thanks for that scared laugh today...
